What a Hawaii Cruise Costs

Hawaii cruise prices in 2026: Pride of America fares month by month, flights to Honolulu, the $20-a-day service charge, and what a week ashore costs.

A Hawaii cruise splits into two very different products at two very different prices: the seven-night inter-island loop from Honolulu on Norwegian's US-flagged Pride of America, and the long crossings from the West Coast that spend four or five sea days getting there. The first starts around $1,300 per person; the second can start lower, with half the trip spent at sea. Here is what each really costs in 2026.

The fare, month by month

Pride of America sails the same seven-night loop year-round - Honolulu, an overnight on Maui, Hilo and Kona on the Big Island, an overnight on Kauai - so pricing follows school calendars rather than seasons. Typical per-person fares, two sharing:

| Months | Interior | Balcony | |---|---|---| | Late August-November | $1,300–1,550 | $2,600–3,000 | | January-March | $1,400–1,700 | $2,800–3,300 | | June-mid-August | $1,600–2,000 | $3,000–3,600 | | Christmas-New Year | $2,300–2,700 | $4,000 and up |

Suites run $3,900–4,700 in ordinary weeks. The alternative - 14- to 16-night round trips from Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego or Vancouver on Princess, Celebrity, Holland America or Carnival - starts around $1,200–2,000 per person for an interior: cheaper per night, but eight or nine of the nights are sea days. Spring and fall repositioning one-ways are the per-night bargains of the region. Our Hawaii island-by-island guide matches each island to what it does best, and the longer version of the loop is laid out in the ten-day route guide.

Flights

Honolulu round trip runs $300–800 from the West Coast and $600–1,200 from the Midwest and East Coast; one 2026 search average across all US origins sits near $1,200, with September among the soft spots. Flying in the day before is close to mandatory - the ship does not wait, and a missed mainland connection is a missed cruise. A Waikiki hotel night adds $180–300.

Tips

Norwegian adds an onboard service charge of $20 per person per day in standard cabins and $25 in suites - $140 for the week, per person - plus an automatic 20% on bar and spa bills. For a couple that is $280 that never appears in the headline fare.

Excursions: the week with no sea days

Pride of America is in port every day, with overnights on Maui and Kauai - which makes the excursion budget both larger and more flexible than on any Caribbean week. The honest ranking:

Ship excursions run 30–40% above the same tours booked direct, buying the usual guarantee that the ship waits. With overnights in two ports, that guarantee matters less here than almost anywhere else we cover.

The cost nobody tells you about

Pride of America is the only large cruise ship flagged in the United States, which is why it can sail all-Hawaii itineraries without a foreign port - and why it costs more per night than a Caribbean week: US crew wages are built into the fare, and there is no casino subsidizing anything. The trade is that there is no casino at all, the entertainment is quieter, and the ship empties out during the day. The second quiet cost is eating ashore: with no sea days, lunch on land tempts you daily, at Hawaii prices - $18–30 a plate. Budget for a few, not for seven.
