Dubrovnik Ferry Guide: Elafiti Islands, Mljet and Korčula

The summer boats to Mljet and Korčula have stopped, Bari is suspended, and the Elafiti islands are what runs now.

Dubrovnik's boats leave from the Gruž harbour, not from the Old Town, and in late October the choice is much smaller than in summer. This guide sits beside our Dubrovnik ferry hub, which lists the routes we have verified. It reads the operators' own 2026 timetables as they stood on 29 October 2026, so you can see what runs now, what has stopped for the season, and what to ask before you book.

1. Getting to Gruž

The Dubrovnik Port Authority says the Port of Gruž is 2 km from the historic city centre, with a Jadrolinija office, banks and cash machines nearby. Its pages differ on the walk: one says about 20 minutes, another 30 to 40 minutes, so allow the longer figure. The same pages say Libertas city buses take 10 to 15 minutes and run every 10 to 20 minutes, with tickets at €1.73 from kiosks or €1.99 on the bus, valid for one hour. Taxis wait in front of the port; the page gives 7 to 10 minutes to the Old City and fares that typically start at about €10. It gives no step-free route information, so ask the port authority (padubrovnik@portdubrovnik.hr) if you need it.

Dubrovnik airport's own page says the airport is 22.5 km from the city. Platanus is the official shuttle operator, with buses leaving for Dubrovnik shortly after landings, and Libertas lines 11, 27 and 38 run daily to and from the airport. The page gives a driving time of about 30 to 35 minutes, which can reach an hour in summer.

2. What is running now: the Elafiti islands

Jadrolinija's line 807 links Dubrovnik with Koločep, Lopud and Šipan. Its 2026 timetable for 1 January to 28 May and 28 September to 31 December, the period that includes 29 October, lists boats leaving Dubrovnik at 10:00, 14:00, 16:30 and 20:00 from Monday to Saturday, and at 09:30 and 20:00 on Sundays and holidays. The 10:00 boat reaches Lopud at 10:55 and Šipan at 11:15. Return times are in the same PDF, which is dense, so read your island's column on Jadrolinija's page. The route page says a ticket is valid for the whole day and for other departures on the same line, that Lopud has no cars, and that a bus runs between Šipanska luka and Suđurađ on Šipan. Jadrolinija adds that the schedule is subject to change and that it guarantees accuracy only on its website.

3. Mljet and Korčula out of season

The Krilo Shipping Company's line 844 is the summer boat to Mljet and Korčula. Its timetable page lists one daily sailing from 12 May to 9 August: Dubrovnik at 10:30, Pomena on Mljet at 11:45 and Korčula at 12:30, returning from Korčula at 15:40 to reach Dubrovnik at 17:45, with adult fares from €25 and tickets online or at the port. With those dates, the line is not listed as running in late October.

A second service, state fast passenger line 9808 (Ubli on Lastovo, Korčula, Sobra on Mljet, Dubrovnik), has its 2026 schedule published on TP Line's site. For 1 January to 28 May and 28 September to 31 December, it lists one boat a day from Dubrovnik at 13:00, reaching Korčula at 15:10. The boat toward Dubrovnik leaves Korčula at 07:40 (08:30 on Sundays) and arrives at 09:50 (10:40 on Sundays). Read together, that means no same-day return on this line, so Korčula would be an overnight stay. Sobra appears in its table only from 29 May to 27 September. The line does not operate on 1 January, 20 April and 25 December.

Mljet is also reached by Jadrolinija's car ferry line 832 between Prapratno on the Pelješac peninsula and Sobra, a crossing of 45 minutes with four departures a day each way in the current period; if the weather is bad, the timetable says the ferry leaves Sobra about 60 minutes late. We found no official source on reaching Prapratno from Dubrovnik without a car, so we do not describe one.

4. Bari: do not plan on it for now

Jadrolinija's notice to passengers on international routes says it will not operate any sailings on its international routes until 5 January 2027, because of a technical issue with the ferry Dalmacija, and that ticket holders will be compensated under Regulation (EU) No 1177/2010. The line 54 timetable for Dubrovnik to Bari is still online for 2026, so a booking site may still show it; read the notice first.

5. Tickets, access and a margin for the ship

Jadrolinija sells tickets online and lists a contact number of 072 30 33 37; Krilo sells online or at the port. None of the pages we read describe boarding assistance or step-free access on these boats, so ask each operator before you book. A boat that returns late in the day, or not at all, is a poor fit for a ship with an all-aboard time. Read why separate tickets need a buffer, use the all-aboard worksheet, and keep the offline-ready checklist handy. For a quieter day without a boat, see Dubrovnik and Lokrum and The Dalmatian Coast: Beyond Dubrovnik. We have not checked any ship's schedule, so nothing here says a boat fits a particular port call.

Checked on 29 October 2026: the Dubrovnik Port Authority (about the port and how to get to the Old City), Dubrovnik airport (how to get to us), Jadrolinija (line 807, 832 and 54 timetables, the Dubrovnik to Lopud to Šipan and Prapratno to Sobra route pages, and the notice on international routes), the Krilo Shipping Company timetable and TP Line's line 9808 timetable. G&V Line's site could not be opened. Timetables, prices and rules change, so confirm with the operator before you travel.
