ABBA in Stockholm: One Music Museum, One Easy Day

One museum, a ferry ride, and time to sit by the water. Here is what the museum itself says.

ABBA The Museum is one of Stockholm's best-known visits for music fans, and it fits easily into a cruise call or a day before embarkation. This guide uses the museum's own visitor page.

1. Where it is

The museum is at Djurgårdsvägen 68 on Djurgården, the island of museums and parkland. The museum notes that parking there is limited, so public transport or a ferry is easier.

2. Getting there

3. Tickets, hours and time to allow

What the museum states
TicketsBought in advance on the museum's website
PaymentCard only; no cash at the museum
Hours (1 September to 23 December)Daily 10:00 to 18:00
Time insideAround 1½ to 2 hours recommended

4. Accessibility

The museum says it is fully wheelchair accessible with lifts to every level, that there is room for up to five wheelchairs at a time (so you may wait), and that two non-motorised wheelchairs can be borrowed.

5. An easy day around it

Book a ticket time that leaves the morning or afternoon free, take the ferry one way for the view, and keep the rest of the day light. If you are on a cruise call, work backward from the all-aboard time (see the all-aboard worksheet); for the boats around the archipelago see the Stockholm ferry hub.
