February is January's weather with one important price change: school half-term and Presidents' Day create a mid-month spike, while the first and last weeks stay among winter's best values. Pick the week as carefully as the region.
Caribbean: driest month, choose the edges
February brings 26–28°C days, low rain and low hurricane risk — arguably the Caribbean's best weather. Seven-night fares run $550–900 interior in the first and last weeks, then jump around Presidents' Day and school breaks. Southern routes to Aruba and Curaçao are driest of all; Eastern routes have the simplest flights.
Panama Canal: dry season at its peak
February is one of the Canal's driest, least humid months, with clear views through Gatun Lake and reliable port days. Full transits run 14–16 nights from Florida to California at $1,800–3,000 per person; partial transits from Florida cost less. The Panama Canal transit guide explains which format to book.
Southeast Asia: last comfortable month
Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam remain in dry season — hot at 28–32°C, but before March-April's punishing heat. Seven-to-twelve-night fares run $900–1,500. Lunar New Year can fall in February, closing businesses and raising regional flights; check the date before paying.
Northern Lights Norway: darkness with returning daylight
February gives northern Norway a better compromise than December: long dark nights for aurora, but four to eight hours of daylight for scenery and excursions. The 12-day coastal round trip starts around $2,400 per person before flights. See what a northern lights cruise costs.
South America: summer around Cape Horn
Buenos Aires to Santiago routes run in southern summer, 12–15 nights at $1,300–2,500. Patagonia is never warm — 10–18°C with wind — but February offers the season's most reliable daylight and landings. Add Iguazu or Buenos Aires before the cruise rather than trying to fit them into port days.
Canary Islands: steady fallback
The Canaries remain 20–22°C, sunnier south and west coasts, with $700–1,200 weekly fares. February half-term pushes UK departures up; fly-cruise from Tenerife can undercut Southampton.
