Summer sailings bring the midnight sun; September trades daylight for northern-lights chances. Less ideal if you need warm-weather cruising or guaranteed calm seas - the North Atlantic decides, and layers are the dress code.

Excursions are the big add-on in Iceland - the Golden Circle, whale watching and the Blue Lagoon typically run $100-200 each, which is why the bundled packages deserve a close look.
